Christmas: In the Western world,
the birthday of Jesus Christ has been celebrated
on December 25th since AD 354, replacing an earlier
date of January 6th. The Christians had by then
appropriated many pagan festivals and traditions
of the season, that were practiced in many parts
of the Middle East and Europe, as a means of stamping
them out. Christmas is a special
time that should focus on the spirit of sharing
and giving, but this spirit should not be confined
to just our friends and families. It is important,
especially at this time of the year, to give thought
to those who are less fortunate than us and to
let our hearts and charity reach out to them.
Look into your heart and ask what you can do to
make a positive change within your community,
your country and the world. There are many good
causes to which you can contribute your time or
money. Give only what you can and rest assured
that in doing so you are not only helping others
but you are also helping yourself Santa
Claus: There are many interesting stories
of Santa Claus. Here, I will tell you a fable
one. There was a man who they called Chris Kr
ingle he was very very grumpy. But there was always
a reason for that when he was a child yes a small
baby he was abused badly. His parents abused him,
mistreated him to be exact. So one day he ran
away far far away and found himself talking to
animals. So no one was his friend because he was
to strange to them. Every day he cried and cried.
One day it just hit him. He didn't want to be
treated this way living in a shack eating little
bits of bread. So he decided to make a difference
for that's what his grandpa told him a long long
time ago. So he left out the town of Birmingham,
Alabama and moved away.
He snuck on trains and buses, and even planes,
but found himself in Ireland. He made one friend
and his name was Fred. Now Fred had been put into
bad situations he hung out with people that were
unkind and they were caught with illegal weapons
in their hands. Fred was with him but he didn't
do anything! He was with the group and he was
arrested to. But one day on Christmas Eve when
Chris was sleeping he heard a noise. It was the
sound of bells ringing, someone was calling him
" Chris come now! Before its to late!"
So Chris did as told. He went outside and was
seeing a miracle. It was an angel. She said to
him "Chris you were brought here to live
forever. To have magic and to give peace to the
world. Come with me! Quickly. Move!"
Chris was always trying to be polite so he went
along. The angel gave Chris a coat and a hat they
were red with white stripes on it. Chris was taken
to a cold place with little people there making
toys! Now Chris had never heard of such place
or dreamed of it either! "You are now
Santa Claus that is your new name. Santa Claus
AKA Chris Kr ingle. You have power now to give
children something you needed as a kid. Toys!
On Christmas you will give kids a toy to play
with. These are your elves they will make you
toys you give them ideas they build it."
Chris was now speechless he was very very irate
to. Well maybe he was dreaming but the reason
he was irate was for he was very very mad that
he was living low and he had just gotten a friend
and now he was gone so he would never see him
again. "But Fred he is a friend of mine.
Why? and what? How do I get them what they want
on Christmas?" he was now frustrated and
confused. "Simple. Reindeer. They will
fly. I will leave you here to figure this out
on your own remember honesty, love, and care is
the key."
A year later...kids all around the world have
gotten toys. They shouldn't get too happy because
no one knows about next year and what will happen?
But old Santa Claus always has a trick up his
sleeve so don't worry about that. Santa
Claus is known throughout the world in many
different names, such as:
Saint Nikolaas (Sinter Klaas), from the Dutch
Father Christmas, from the English Kris Kringle,
from the Germans Befana, from the Italians Bobouschka,
from the Russians (a grand motherly figure instead
of a male) |
